Adi has been a big buff of the Art Attack show on Disney channel. The host is not only creative but also comical. Adi’s preferred topics has been anything related to haunted. Few days back the host on art attack was demonstrating the ways of painting a haunted house. It appeared very easy and my son decided to attempt it. The main element was black and my son drew a house on a white sheet of paper and picked up the black paint to begin his quest with it. He began to paint and he sat fixed for an hour or so. I was busy in the kitchen but I kept watching his face as he proceeded with the painting. His face changed from pleasant to puzzled to irritated to shocked to miserable to sob. Finally he showed me the outcome and I was shocked at what I saw. The white sheet was totally black. My instinct was to laugh out loud but I had to control and lift his spirits. With great difficulty, I muttered something like this” The painting is beautiful, in fact the symbol of haunt is black and you have done just that, except for the fine details missing. Next time will be much better” and I had to run to the bathroom and laugh at what I managed to say :). Sitting straight for an hour to finally show me a black sheet of paper was absolutely an attack.

Wonder what kept tingling my sweet tooth for a while and even before I realized I was off to the kitchen, gathering all I had in hand for baking a cake. This is not my first time at it but each time has been different. I am puzzled at the reality that even with the same recipe the outcome has been varied. Occasionally it is unbelievable and at other times a ruin. Well!! that may indicate that am not a natural cook and I need lots of experience and patience for getting a satisfying outcome. Also to blame the power cuts which may occur in-between the baking process which happened to the banana cake I made this time. But god’s grace, power was back within minutes .I haven’t been that lucky in the past because of which I had given up baking for a while. Well this time was good and so I dared post this on my blog.
Thanu I was definitely inspired by the look of the cakes in your blog and was wondering why there hasn’t been some cooking going on for a while. Hope the photos below will motivate you to put up something new.
I baked the chocolate cake initially and my taste buds didn’t stop tingling and so I made the banana cake the following day.

Lot of talk about the movie and am sure it is worthy of all the attention it is receiving.. Hats of to Aamir and team for coming up with a sensitive issue in addition to directing it so well=Bulls eye . I am certain that he must have made up his mind to obtain an oscar particularly after Lagaan was qualified.
I saw an interview of the boy who played Ishaan avasti in TZP. Truly commendable acting by the little boy and am not surprised that he refused the best child artist award and demanded for the best actor award. The subject of the movie has definitely touched my heart and am sure it would have touched many others. The dialogue as Aamir puts it in the movie ”parents ambitions being shoved upon the child is worst than child labour” is definitely a punch line statement. Many of us may conflict with the fact that we may be doing it to our own kids and its time we change. Adi’s school screened the movie for teachers and kids and I hope at least few of them try to transform and adapt the same. Indian system of education is mainly competitive and needs a change. As years pass by, kids are expected to be robots where parents play a main role in driving their kids to the edge and later blame on competition when things don’t turn out as expected. Adi’s school is an epitome of this kind of madness and they make sure that every kid is dragged into this mess. Wish I could do something to change the entire system of education and I think the least I can do is voice it on my blog. The movie has definitely changed the way I look at my kid.
